Jason Rigby Quartet playing in Rijeka Tunnel

On Saturday the jazz club Tunnel guests renowned American saxophonist Jason Rigby and his quartet. This is more than wonderful news to the Rijeka jazz audience.

If judging by reputation of this relatively young New York musician and his band, this concert will be one of the strongest jazz performances this year and, interestingly, the first concert in which the Tunnel will be charging admission.

Not taking much time, as it is still new, the jazz club Tunnel has become popular in this area. The main feature of the club, and the decisive factor in its rapid success, excepting for the unique and plesant atmosphere in the space that was formerly a tunnel, is its great concept and a very rich weekly program that includes regular performances by residents and guests, local and foreign (in the widest possible sense) jazz master and apprentices.

Jason Rigby to date has achieved a number of successes, including recordings on Soul Note, Fresh Sound, Koch Jazz and NuCity Jazz labels. His debut album "Translucent Space," released in 2006, was acclaimed by Wire magazine, which put it on its annual best releases. Furthermore, Rigby's works have been praised by The New York Times, The Village Voice, Jazziz, AllAboutJazz and many other prestigious international jazz publications. He and his quartet are currently on a European tour promoting his recent album "The Sage," and it is noteworthy that his only performance in Croatia is this one at the Tunnel in Rijeka.

Tickets for this exclusive jazz gig are avilable in advance Nabavljivo in Dallas, Aquarius, and at the bar at Tunnel at a cost of 70 kuna. Also, it should be noted that the number of tickets is limited.
